Many factors can contribute to the life of your driveway:
Weather - severe cold and heat
Wet ground conditions
Sub-base of the driveway: We recommend a minimum of a 6" base material be installed
Leaking fluids: oil, gas, antifreeze
Drainage of the driveway as well as the landscape which surrounds the driveway
Maintenance and Care of your New Driveway
Do not stop and turn wheels of car. Please make sure car is moving.
Please do not drive cars on the driveway for at least 5-7 days.
Do not park any vehicles over an extended period of time on the driveway for at least 14 days.
Backfill perimeter of your driveway as soon as possible to prevent erosion.
Avoid any large vehicles (i.e., oil trucks) on or across the driveway for at least 2-3 months.
Watering or spraying of your driveway within the first 24 hours will help cool and cure the new asphalt.
Sealing of your driveway (only if you wish to) should not be done for at least 1 year after installation.
All work is guaranteed for one full year against cracking or settling only when a 6" pavement base is installed by Morin Paving, Inc.
